Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) was established in as far back as 1876, to become the first full-scale printing company in Japan.
In the early eighties, Dai Nippon Printing was one of the first companies to pioneer thermal transfer ribbon technology and the oldest company to start business development in thermal transfer ribbon technology. Since 2008, DNP merged with Sony Chemicals’ TTR division and DNP’s Imaging Communication subsidiary was founded. Ever since DNP has grown to be the world’s largest manufacturer of thermal transfer ribbons for barcode and dye-sublimation printers. Dai Nippon Printing is also the world’s largest diversified printing/coating technologies company. At its 58 plants, both in Japan and overseas, DNP’s operations include commercial printing, packaging, decorative materials, electronics, business forms and information media supplies.

DNP Imagingcomm Asia is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) and the first manufacturing base of “Dye Sublimation Thermal Transfer Media” in Asia under DNP strategy. DNP Imagingcomm Asia manufacturing Dye Sublimation Thermal Transfer Media and Barcode Thermal Ribbon for customers worldwide, especially for customers in Asia.
Strategically located in Malaysia, DNP Imagingcomm Asia Sdn. Bhd. is set up to close to the market whereby timely meeting the rising demand of Dye Sublimation Thermal Transfer Media in the region. We cover the market territories all the way from Oceania, Southeast Asia , South Asia, Central Asia, Middle East to Africa Continent (exculding North Africa).
The sales team of DNP Imagingcomm Asia will also be able to be more responsive to customer needs, as our new plant enhances our capabilities in production, delivery and service requirements.

Thermal Transfer Ink Ribbons
Materials used when printing bar codes and signboard in a Thermal Transfer Printing format. Thermal Transfer Ink Ribbons are manufactured using ink made of carbon and colored pigments for printing which are mixed with wax and then attached at a thickness of several microns to the surface of a film which acts as the base material. When heat is transferred to a film the thermal head, only the portion melts and attached to the paper.
DYE Sublimation Transfer Ribbons
Materials used in the Thermal Transfer Printing of digital images. Comprised of a three-color-yellow, magenta and cyan-ink ribbon width a transparent overcoat layer and dedicated receiver paper. As the dyes are transferred in line width the concentration of the image, it is possible to achieve smooth gradations, and reproduce high grade images of a similar quality to silver halide photographic prints DNP is expecting a sharp increase in the use of this new imaging material at kiosk terminals and in home based prints.
Top Management I Yuki Nogami
Mr. Yuki Nogami was born in Japan. He joined Dai Nippon Printing Co.Ltd., Tokyo, Japan in 2003 as Sales & Marketing cum Business Development Manager attached to Imaging Communication Department. He contributed for various size of clients by providing them a technical support and solution for the Photo Printing System and its Media, and Media for Barcode Printing System for International customers. In December 2016 he was assigned to Malaysia and become Senior Sales Manager to lead the Sales Photo team to derive a strategy covers international region such as Southeast Asia, Oceania, Indian continent, Middle East & Africa Market. Currently he is the Managing Director of DNP Imagingcomm Asia Sdn. Bhd.
